I have been wanting to do this Tag ever since I first watched a video of it on YouTube, and I thought: Why not turn it into a blog post? You don't have to be a vlogger to do this tag. So here goes.
Before I start, though, R.I.P. Cory Monteith. I was so shocked to discover his demise this morning on Tumblr.
1. Find an author's name or title with the letter Z in it
I have a title and an author. Tintenherz (Inkheart) by Cornelia Funke & The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.
2. Find a classic
A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens
I have about ten classics, although I haven't read maybe half of them yet, to be honest. I did read this one and I liked it, so I chose it. Plus, The Infernal Devices are inspired by A Tale of Two Cities.
3. Find a book with a key on it
The Archived by Victoria Schwab & Silber by Kerstin Gier.
You can see the lizard in the right hand corner on the bottom holding a key with his tongue, and The Archived should be self-explanatory.
4. Find something on your bookshelf that's not a book
Pick one. There's a candle, a glass ball, a snowman, a teddy bear and an iTunes gift card. I also have another teddy on my other shelf and a book store gift card.
5. Find the oldest book on your shelf
That probably has to be my mother's copy of Pippi Longstocking by Astrid Lindgren which she handed down to me. The book was printed in 1982 and I don't know when my mom bought it, but it is 31 years old now.
6. Find a book with a girl on the cover
This is ridiculously easy. I have plenty more but decided for this pile: The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa, Under The Never Sky by Veronica Rossi, Boundless by Cynthia Hand, Everneath by Brodi Ashton, Endlessly by Kiersten White, Delirium by Lauren Oliver, The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead and Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood.
7. Find a book that has an animal in it

15. Find a book on your shelf that takes place in the earliest time period
I don't know if A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin actually counts, as it is fantasy, but if it does, that should be it, since it's, I don't know, medieval-y, right? Otherwise I have The Amulet by C.F. Meyer (Damn, I totally forgot this Meyer. So I even have three of them), which takes place in the late 1500s.
16. Find a hardcover without a jacket
The German editions of Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling are all hardcover without a jacket.
17. Find a teal/turquoise colored book

So, that was it. It was a lot of fun, especially the part most probably don't like: Getting the books out of the shelf and putting them back again. I don't know why, but I enjoyed this Tag.
